The Protological and the Eschatological or
"The Beginning and the End"
In the beginning, humans were created to be harmonious caretakers to the animals in Eden (Genesis 1:20–2:20). In Eden, humans and animals were vegan (Genesis 1:26–31), and harm
and death did not exist for either (Romans 8:18–25 NLT). Jesus encouraged believers to work towards the ideals of Eden (Matthew 19:1–12). Similarly, in the end, humans will be
harmonious caretakers to the animals (Isaiah 11:6–9) on the eternal New Earth (65:17–25). Isaiah 11:6 GNT specifically states, “Wolves and sheep will live together in peace,
and leopards will lie down with young goats. Calves and lion cubs will feed together, and little children will take care of them.” On the New Earth, humans and animals will be vegan
(11:6–9), and there will forever be no harm or death for either (Revelation 21:1–4). The Bible encourages Christians to work towards bringing that heavenly world to the present
(Matthew 6:10, 2 Peter 3:11–13).
