Previously, the Passover required a lamb to be slaughtered (Exod 12:1–51) at the temple (Deut 16:1–8). Jesus fulfilled the Passover and replaced it with the Lord’s Supper
instead (Luke 22:15–20). However, the Lord’s Supper is time-sensitive and will end after Christ’s return (1 Cor 11:17–34). Importantly, the Passover will be reinstated
on the New Earth (Luke 22:15–16), without the lamb, just like the Passover in Luke 22:7–16 and its parallel
passages (Matt 26:17–26; Mark 14:12–22) had no physical lamb present. Instead, Jesus will symbolically represent the lamb (John 1:29, 1:36; 1 Cor 5:7–8; 1 Pet 1:19) and
the temple (Rev 21:22) at this New Earth Passover.
