Jesus Has Absolute Sovereignty Over Animals

Jesus is both fully human (John 1:14; Phil 2:7–8; Heb 2:17; 1 John 4:2) and fully God (John 1:1–4, 1:10, 10:30, 17:21, 20:26–29; 1 Cor 8:6; Phil 2:5–6; 2:11, 3:20; Col 1:15–19; Titus 2:13; James 1:1; 2 Pet 1:1). Since Jesus is God, he owns all the animals (Ps 50:7–11, 104:24). Christ as the Lord gives animals life and can take it as he pleases (Deut 32:36–39; Job 1:21; Rev 1:18). In contrast, finite humans like ourselves do not have the absolute sovereignty to take the lives of animals as we please, like God (Jesus) does (Num 23:19; 1 Sam 15:29; Hos 11:9).
