Scripture: We believe the 66-book Bible containing the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative word of God (2 Tim
3:16–17; 2 Pet 1:19–21). However, this inspiration, infallibility, inerrancy, and authority only apply to the original author written texts in the Bible, which have long since deteriorated. We acknowledge that copies of the Bible
may contain later additions (like John
7:53–8:11) or errors that are not authentic to the original documents, and therefore,
those portions should not be considered inspired or authoritative.
