In the Bible, the ‘Kingdom of God’ (Luke 14:15) is a synonym and used interchangeably with the ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ (Matt 22:2). Both phrases primarily indicate that
the Kingdom is spiritually present in the hearts of Christians (Luke 17:21). However, the terms can also refer to the eternal New Earth (2
Pet 1:11). The Kingdom is ‘Here But Not Yet,’ meaning that it has begun but is not yet finalized (Heb 2:8). The Kingdom will be complete on the New Earth. This terminology can
create confusion. Depending on the context, the Kingdom can refer to the present church age or the New Earth state.
